This 25X24.5-inch thread painted & appliqued Raccoon Wall Quilt brings a touch of nature and artistry to any space.  Patterned from Hahn Enterprized’s In the Wild Series and expertly appliqued, thread painted, and pieced by Linda E Wells in March 2016, it combines craftsmanship with rustic appeal. Featuring a machine appliqued 11x6 inch raccoon motif set against a 19x18.5-inch background of grass, leaves, trees, sky, and a large moon outlined with a blanket quilting stitch, this piece captures serene woodland charm. To make him look real, I used a technique called thread painting to build up layers of texture that mimic soft, thick fur. I also thread painted the trees and the veins of the leaves to bring the forest background to life under the large full moon. The sky is finished with a beautiful meandering stitch, and the entire scene is framed with a 3 inch diamond quilted brown border and binding. Even the back has custom character with a warm brown acorn print. Entire Wall quilt is finished with 5 (2inch) hanging tabs.
