I took a large number of extra quilt blocks left over from past projects, combined them with miscellaneous blocks gifted by friends who didn't know what to do with them, and arranged them into a stunning, cohesive design. It’s perfect for adding warmth to a daybed, draping over a sofa, or gifting to someone special who appreciates handcrafted history. Set against a crisp white background and framed with a wide 5.5-inch white border, the different sizes and colors of the blocks create a gorgeous mosaic effect. To bring it all to life, I used free motion non-computerized quilting to stitch a beautiful, edge-to-edge butterfly pattern across the quilt. Finished with a decorative stitch on the binding and a sweet, multicolored floral backing on light pink and white, this heirloom quilt is full of character and charm.
